Pixie's Snippets Playground Challenge - Prefect Cards!!

Good morning and welcome to my blog. Today I am sharing two cards for PIXIE'S SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND where I am honoured to be 'Prefect' for the week:

For the above card I used a piece of black Colour me Irresistible DSP for the background paper. Then I stamped and heat embossed the flowers with gold embossing powder (one onto vellum and one onto white card). These were layered onto snippets of gold foil. The butterfly was also stamped onto vellum, coloured in then given a lick of Crystal Effects to make it shine. It was finished off with some ribbon and some candy dots.

For the above card I stamped the lemons twice and then paper pieced them - the great thing about this is that it covers up the extra stamped bits where it is overlapped ;-)   ( I hope that makes sense!! )
Paper piecing is a great way of using up snippets of paper too!!
I layered this onto a snippet of die cut card with a retired 'Labels Collection' Framelit die.

The three stamp sets which I used for my cards are ex Sale-A-Bration stamp sets and if you enter the challenge you have a chance to win providing you use a snippet of paper/card or ribbons. This should be very easy as if you are anything like me you will not throw anything away!
The rest of the items used are at the end of this post.

So why not come and join in the fun at Pixie's Snippets Playground:

Oh! and before I go I have just looked up the definition of 'Prefect' :

a senior pupil who is authorized to enforce discipline.

So beware Sarn ..... I'll be watching you!!!!!

I hope you have a fabulous weekend and thanks for visiting!

  2. Thanks for giving Di a well deserved rest over in the Playground. Good luck trying to enforce discipline as a prefect, I think that might be difficult to achieve with some of the pupils! ;-)

Two fabulous cards. Gorgeous embossing on the first one and I love the paper piecing on the second. xx

  3. Both fabulous cards Eve. The first one is great layering and embossing and I love the paper piecing of the second one.

Yes, of COURSE I'm creeping. Gotta stay on your good side this week . . . especially as your authorised to enforce discipline. I don't like the look of that slipper you're carrying around!

In all seriousness, it's lovely of you to give Di another break.

    Hugs, Sarn xxx

  5. I saw your cards over on the playground, but had to come here for a closer look. I love the layering on the first, and the gold on vellum looks so pretty, but the paper piecing on those lemons is awesome! It inspired me to do some paper piecing of my own yesterday. Oh, and thanks for the definition of prefect.......I was too lazy to look it up myself, but wondered what it meant. Thanks for helping out our Di - she works so hard keeping things in check at the playground and I'm sure she appreciates your stepping up to the plate for her!

  6. Lovely layered cards. The lemons are so bright and cheerful. Just what you want in a greeting card. I'm impressed by the paper piecing.

  7. I now have the lemons card proudly displayed in my home - it is even nicer IRL! and so clever. Thanks for the card and for the stamps, hope to be able to do them justice.
